Oh, hell to da naw!!!

Meet the Coles. This family is the center of a new TLC reality series, ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY. Big as in literally, like the Klumps. And BLACK too.

Am I over-reacting? I DON'T THINK SO!

This shit is playing into all the stereotypes there is about big black folks. "I've been eating fried chicken since I was 2"...???????? I ain't down with this at all.

And I thought BET was bad enough....

A decade to remember...

Sorry I haven't been updating, guys. I'm still fighting a cold and have an earache. The blogging must go on... The past ten years has been certainly one to remember. A lot of memorable things happened, both personal and historical. I thank God for getting me through these years. There were times I probably wouldn't have made it but I'm still here, and I look forward to what the next decade will bring. Here are some of my most memorable moments of the last ten years (2000-2009):
  • Y2K - don't act like y'all didn't stock up on everything when you were told all the electricity would shut down...
  • Presidential Election 2000 - the 1st time G. Dub cheated his way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...
  • The deaths of Aaliyah in 2001, Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez and Jam Master Jay in 2002, Gerald Levert in 2006, Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes in 2008...
  • 9/11/2001 - the day the world stopped moving; this is THE biggest, most significant even ever...
  • Iraq War - G. Dub lied about the weapons of mass destruction, Saddam Hussein caught but bin Laden still free...smh...
  • Janet Jackson's 2004 wardrobe malfunction & J. Timberlake punked out - on repeat for several weeks lol...
  • High school graduation - #shoutout to Forest Brook class of 2003...
  • Accepted to and becoming a University of Texas Longhorn - Hook 'em Horns!
  • The death of my grandmother - that morning phone call I'll never forget...
  • Myspace, Facebook, Twitter - what's next...
  • Columbia space shuttle disaster (2/1/03) - I thought it was a rocket or some fireworks #honestly
  • Tropical storm Allison; Hurricanes Katrina, Rita & Ike...
  • Snow Days - Houston had like 3 or 4 of them...AND an ice storm...global warming, my ass!!!
  • Line dances - Stanky Legg, Cupid Shuffle, Michael Jackson shuffle, Bunny Hop...what other dances? LOL
  • Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) - need I say more? ♫ Now WAIT!!♫
  • Avian/Bird flu and H1N1 outbreak - Swiiiiiiiiine...
  • Miracle on Hudson - the plane landing in the Hudson River...
  • The Assassination of Neda (Iranian Election) - the videos shown on CNN...man...
  • Balloon Boy and the White House Party Crashers - the hell wrong with these people?
  • Whitney Houston - Being Bobby Brown #KissMyAss, Crack is whack, the Wendy Williams interview, teaching us how to smoke a coke-laced weed while reading the Bible...Crackney had some moments, didn't she? LOL
  • Attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Day - a tighty whitey bomb?! #CmonSon
  • Octomom - crazy ass...
  • "You got Chris Brown'd!" - sorry Ike...#KanyeShrug
  • Tiger's a Cheetah...
  • Michael Jackson dies - the day music stopped playing...
  • Year of the Fallen Stars 2009 - Brittany Murphy, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, Senator Edward Kennedy, Patrick Swayze, Natasha Richardson, Billy Mays, David Carradine, Steve McNair...
And I cannot forget two of my favorite moments - G. Dub chokes on a pretzel and ol' Dick Chaney shot his friend on a hunting trip. That's mean, I know...and I don't care. C'est la vie! What a decade. On to the next one...

I love my family...

...especially during the holidays. No matter what happens with us, I know I can always count on them. Well, I couldn't count on them this time. There was no big drama or boxing match to make it a big memorable event. The last big showdown was Christmas 2005, and that was THE best, lol. I know, it's sad wanting my family to fight each other for my entertainment but if you'd spend just ONE day with these people, you'd be saying we should have a reality show.

I did have a NICE Christmas, though. I spent half the day with my Louisiana folks and the other half with my mom. My niece was so happy to see her Tinkerbell and Princess and the Frog gifts. I watched my little cousins faces as they opened their presents then we ate the annual Christmas gumbo (I told you my family is Creole...they hail from Louisiana). I got a couple of gifts, even though I don't care for getting them. I've outgrown that and told these people not to get me anything. My aunt and uncle gave me a tie, knowing very well I don't dress up at all. My best friend got me the 12 megapix-5 optical zoom digital camera that I been looking for, which she owes me for breaking my last camera anyway. My mom got me a box of Turtles (can't go wrong with that) and an Amex gift/debit card thing.

I guess you can say a little drama, if you call it that, did happen. My mom's folks were supposed have the get-together at one of my aunts house but she never answered the phone for 2 days. She finna get it, if she hadn't gotten it already.

To top it off, I witnessed my mom attempting to jerk and re-enact the Single Ladies routine. I have appointment with a therapist in a few minutes. #ShadeSoldSeparately

Looking forward to that one crazy drunk on New Years...

Storytellers...of erotica...

As I wrote in my introductory entry, I’m a writer. When I was younger I used to write lyrics and poetry. During high school, I wrote short amateur screenplays. By college, I transitioned into kind of a soap opera-like untitled scripted screenplay. Now, I have 2 unfinished novels that I started writing about 3 years ago. Due to school, I haven’t had much time to write like I used to. I thought about posting some of my work here but, you know, Beyoncé might be waiting to steal credit. As good of a writer I am, so I’ve been told (#Brag), I haven’t reached the level of writing good sex scenes or stories. The thing is, I'm a Scorpio. We're major freaks by nature. I did phone bone once but it never did much for me. The real thing though - in the bedroom, in the kitchen, the living room, the driveway, a room full of people sleeping - is a different story. *Winks* So why can't I put erotic action on paper? I think I should try it out for practice soon. #2010ToDoList.
I have to give a #shoutout to my friend and fellow blogger Steven, a developing author who’s been writing some hot erotic stories. Check him out. I sure could use a few pointers from him. #ShamelessPlug: Welcome To My World…
