Fast Five
Ever wondered why a movie franchise keeps making sequels that keeps getting worst with each film? Yeah, I felt the same for this one. So naturally, I was skeptical in seeing this but I'm glad I did. Boy, was I wrong! This film was certainly MILES better than the last 2. No, LIGHTYEARS!!! Vin Diesel, my baby daddy Paul Walker, Tyrese, and Ludacris all reprise their roles, teaming up for a big job. Throw The Rock in to the mix and you have a sexy orgy. Well, not really...but they're all sexy. A fucking plus.
Rio
I love family movies. This one, of course, did not fail me. Great funny movie. Go see it! B+

Madea's crazy ass...
Low budget? Obvious.
Horrible acting? Definitely.
Over the top? No doubt about it.
But that's always been the case with Tyler Perry films and Madea's Big Happy Family is no different. What is different, however, is this movie is packed with more humor than drama and religion, and is less focused on having to "send a message" like the previous films. That and the fact that Madea is more prominent throughout the movie too, unlike those same previous movies. Teyana Taylor is a standout as her character is a HOOT! That can be a good thing or a bad thing. You judge. Be prepared for your sides to hurt like hell. Obviously, people loved it since it took in over $25 million during it's opening weekend. Take that, Spike Lee!

SCRE4M...Back to the basics
This movie was CRAZY!!
While I’ve heard a lot people talking about how good it was, some people were saying it was “just decent”. That, I don’t get. Like, were we watching the same movie? It was GOOD!!
Of course, I was kind of skeptical at first but with Kevin Williamson back as the writer, I just knew it would be hundreds of times better than Scream 3 (which Williamson didn’t write). This was almost on par as the first 2, which were also written by Williamson. What a way to bring back the last of the greatest slasher series in horror movie history, by taking it back to the basics.
It was great seeing Sydney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Deputy Dewey on-screen together again.
New decade, new rules…and a twist that will leave your jaw on the floor.
“Don’t fuck with the original.”

Movie Review: Despicable Me and Inception
Despicable Me
At first I didn’t care too much for this movie.
The initial trailer previews didn’t give me the idea that this film would be a
good one; although I thought the little kids (kids, not kidz) would love it
regardless. But as time went on, the previews revealed a little more of the
film then came the little girl. “It’s so fluffy!!” Lol, she’s so cute. So I
decided to pull up the movie online *yes, ONLINE* and watch it. I gotta say, I
laughed my ass off throughout the movie. I had the wrong impression; this movie
is hilariously fun. I wish I would have been able to take my niece to see it.
Definitely worth it. I also recommend the soundtrack, which is produced by Pharrell. Grade: A+
Inception
I never understood what this film would be about before
walking into the movie theater. Just as I expected, it was confusing at times.
This is a kind of film that you’d have to really pay attention or else if you
miss two seconds, you’d be seriously lost. I like those kinds of movies that
can hold my attention like that. However, despite a little confusion, I still
understood what was going on. Most films of this nature are hard to pull off
but Inception was brilliantly executed. It takes you on a dream within a dream
within a dream that can be created and controlled by the sleeping individual.
The confusing part comes when you don’t know when the characters are in a dream
or not, lol. I recommend it. Grade: A

To Infinity and Beyond...
This movie brought back a lot of memories. Lot’s of laughs, some sadness, good feelings. This movie seems to complete the story. This should definitely be seen. It’s worth it. If you’re a 90’s kid, you’ll appreciate the closure.
Two thumbs up!!

Sex and the Desert
Good movie. However, it’s too long for a movie of its kind and a few slow, unnecessary dry spots. If you have an eye for fashion, of course, you’ll never get bored. Grade: B.

Movie Reviews: Babies and Funerals
Okay, here's the deal. I just saw two films that were recently released: Death at a Funeral and The Back-Up Plan. I must say that after seeing the trailers for the two aforementioned movies, I wasn't too keen about seeing them. They seemed very unworthy of my hard-earned unemployment checks. But since their releases, I've only heard so much about how "...Funeral" was so funny, hilarious, crazy. Their words, not mine. But it convinced me enough to see it anyway. As for The Back-Up Plan, the trailer only showed me that the mid-wife scene where the lady growls during birth was enough to persuade me to see it but just for that scene.
Death at a Funeral
This was a waste of time. Not one laugh. Not a one. No chuckles, no giggle. Horrible, over-the-top acting. Predictable. Stupid. Unfunny. I could go on and on. Some things look good on paper but this just wasn't delivered well at all. It reminded me of "Kingdom Come" starring Vivica Fox, LL Cool J and Cedric the Entertainer. That was one tragic idea that should have never come out of somebody's head. Ironically, Loretta Devine stars in that film as well as this one. It seems lately she's been attached to a lot of bad movies (including the upcoming "The Lottery Ticket"). Grade: *Is it possible to go any lower than an F?*
The Back-Up Plan
Another J.Lo romantic comedy movie. I know what you're thinking. Fluffy, predictable, schmaltzy. I usually don't do these kinds of films. But as I said, the only scene I wanted to see was the midwife scene. Well, the trailer didn't do this film justice. I actually found it a good, decent film with plenty of laughs. Of course, it is indeed a bit predictable and J.Lo's acting is still kind of bad but you can get past that. At least she's better than "You've been a very bad girl, Gaga." Y'all know who that is. (Sorry Bouncy) This film certainly helped me to recover from Death. Grade: B

Married life is KUH-RAZEE!!!
See it!!!
Hate Tyler Perry and his work? NOBODY GIVES A DAMN!!! Go see the damn movie. It's THAT damn great! His best work ever. Tyler needs to do more movies like this. Madea is kinda genius but only as a play. It doesn't translate to film very well. I thought he wouldn't be able to top the original Why Did I Get Married? Boy, was I WRONG!
Y'all know I love me some Janet. She isn't really a good actress but this is easily Janet's BEST performance as an actress.
I'll tell you this: That damn Angela! That damn Pat!! That damn surprisingly shocking twist!!!

The Hatter, the Bitchie Queen & the Rabbit Hole...
I decided a long time ago that I was going to go to the movies on March 5th. Why? Because that was the day a certain highly anticipated film was being released. A remake of an old Disney classic visually brought to life, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway.
If you guessed Tim Burton's "Alice In Wonderland", pat yourself on the back.
If you guessed Tim Burton's "Alice In Wonderland", pat yourself on the back.
A 19-year-old ALICE returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen's reign of terror.
This movie was UH-MAY-ZING! From the fashion to the storyline to the visuals. I'm not sure why I always find myself in surprise and amazement when seeing a new Tim Burton film but he does his job very well. If you know Tim Burton's work then you know his films tend to seem a bit dark. I loved his version of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". This film may seem a little too grown up for children at times but it does carry a message about life - the world is never bright and shiny, and there will always be speed bumps and road blocks. The plot isn't so much original, however, it is indeed unique enough to be so.
The acting from the cast is highly superb and made the characters seem real as they brought them to life. Johnny Depp is a great actor, dare I say the greatest there is today, because of the kind of roles that he takes on (Willie Wonka in "The Chocolate Factory", Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbeans"). So it is no surprise that he's played the role of Mad Hatter extremely well enough for some Oscar attention next year. However, it is in my opinion that Depp has, for once, been upstaged by none other than Helena Bonham Carter, whom plays the Red Queen.
And don't get me started on the visuals. Brilliant. Just Brilliant. GO SEE IT!!!
In 3D of course!
